New Year’s eve at Finca Cortesin

It’s New Year’s Eve and you’ve come here to pay homage to the known and celebrate the arrival of the unknown. As your transcendent moment ebbs away you’re pulled back into the din of revellers anxiously awaiting the arrival of the New Year at the Costa del Sol’s premier golf club and resort. It’s a tradition like few others in the region, this New Year’s party at Finca Cortesin, and those of us at Chez Vous have the distinct honour of organizing it.

Every year hotel guests at Finca Cortesin are treated to a New Year’s Eve party without equal. With the timeless waters of the Mediterranean as the backdrop guests ring in the New Year with music, dancing, an exquisite dinner in Schilo or El Jardin de Victor and 12 grapes eaten precisely at midnight in the grand ballroom; a tradition believed to bring good luck in the year to come.

As is their custom, Finca Cortesin enlisted the services of Chez Vous events to organise and oversee the management of their annual New Year’s Eve party. For us, it’s both a singular honour and a unique opportunity to bring our own brand of style and sophistication to an event that’s held in high regard throughout the region. We handled everything from the layout and set up of the main ballroom and its sound system to arranging for musical guests to perform both before and after the transition.

Aerial artists we brought in to send off the year elicited more than their fair share of oohs and ahhs. The aerialists we work with are highly trained in all aspects of this breathtaking traditional art form and we worked closely with them to create a one-of-a-kind performance for the ages. When it was over the smiles on the faces of the guests lit up the grounds.

For the champagne cocktail and midnight countdown we arranged for one of the area’s premier live bands to provide a traditional soundtrack. They kept the atmosphere light and lively before ultimately giving way to DJ Scott who rocked the assembled revellers into the wee hours. It’s the kind of event few who attend will ever forget and is of the most anticipated events on our schedule year in, year out.
